For me photography is about experiencing life at 1/100th of a second with my aim being to capture and create engaging and compelling images for my clients.

Engaging and compelling images are those images that draw you back to them time and time again. They invoke an emotive response from you or cause you to relive a memory from your past. A photograph is not a photograph until it gets that response from you .

I have been taking photographs since I was a young boy and I received my first formal training at a Perth photographic studio and modelling agency in the early 1980's. That was back in the days of film and chemical developing. Since then I have moved into the exciting world of digital photography and Photoshop.

I have taken pictures all over our country in a variety of fields ranging from portrait, wedding and landscape photography to the competitive arena of commercial and architectural photography. I have resided in Alice Springs since 1998 and believe that a photographer should keep expanding on their skill base and enhance the artisitc side of their mind. This is why I have chosen not to specialise in one area of photography. That is what you get when you live your life in increments of 1/100th of a second.

 Alice Springs, the virtual heart of Australia is where modern technology meets with some of the oldest cultures on our planet. It is an area where photographic challenges are there to be met, conquered and embraced. It is an area where the diversity of its people provide a plethora of emotions and experiences. It is this component of photography that I tap into and it is this that my customers can rely upon to record the cherished memories of their lives.

My personal style is centred around reportage photography where capturing a thought, an emotive moment or a life experience is for me a very powerful medium. Although I still do the more traditonal staged commercial images, my personal preference is based on capturing the personality of the subject or the drama of the moment.

A large part of my client work involves repairing or restoring old or damaged photographs, or to enhance images taken by other photographers who are not familiar with post processing software.

Most of my global post processing work is undertaken using Adobe Lightroom CC which enables me to work in high workflow environments and to quickly offer clients alternative presentations for a given image.

Once I complete my RAW processing in Adobe Lightroom CC I then if required complete finer retouching or compositional work utilising the power of the Adobe Photoshop CC program.
