Sometimes the photographs that we take do not meet our expectations or those treasured images are damaged or suffer from aging...don't we all? Photographic restoration is a labour of love for me because I know how much those photographs mean to you.

The majority of photographs that we take generally need some form of adjustment or retouching. This is because we live in a world where most of us have cameras that shoot in Automatic or Programmed Mode. By doing this we soon discover that zooming in, reframing and shifting position takes its toll on the quality of our images. This often results in poor exposure, colour casts, red eye and image composing problems. In addition to this we often experience problems like yellow teeth, blemishes or wrinkles, red eye, subjects good in one photograph but not the next, and that bit of weight you wish was not visible in a photograph, all of which go to tarnish your image. Well that is where the magic of Photoshop can help.

I am experienced in Adobe Photoshop CC and Adobe Lightroom CC and can do all retouching, photographic restoration and advanced compositing tasks for you.

RESTORATIONS

Have you ever looked are some of your treasured photographs, particularly those of great-grandparents, and found that they have deteriorated, been scratched or damaged? This is the area where I spend much of my time. My charges can be found in my price list.  USB's/postage will incur additional costs.

I classify my restoration work into four categories:

  • Minor- fixing colour casts, minor scratches etc. Work is generally finished under 15 minutes
  • Moderate: fixing tears, moderate scratching etc. Work is generally finished under 30 minutes
  • Severe: image requires manipulation, patching etc. Work taking 30-90 minutes generally.
  • Extreme: this is where significant damage is done to the image or where you want a black and white image colourised. This work generally takes over 90 minutes.
